Randomness Friday

Well, I didn't write anything for the bumper sticker prompts. However, here are some suggestions in case you are looking for something to kick start your writing.

Alright, I just finished reading THIS Book.

Alexia Tarabotti is laboring under a great many social tribulations. First, she has no soul. Second, she's a spinster whose father is both Italian and dead. Third, she was rudely attacked by a vampire, breaking all standards of social etiquette.

Where to go from there? From bad to worse apparently, for Alexia accidentally kills the vampire -- and then the appalling Lord Maccon (loud, messy, gorgeous, and werewolf) is sent by Queen Victoria to investigate.

With unexpected vampires appearing and expected vampires disappearing, everyone seems to believe Alexia responsible. Can she figure out what is actually happening to London's high society? Will her soulless ability to negate supernatural powers prove useful or just plain embarrassing? Finally, who is the real enemy, and do they have treacle tart?

First of all, NOT a YA book. At least not in my mind, so why did I think it was? Second, LOVED it. Alexia is amazing! She is quirky, blunt, and perfectly delightful. And Lord Maccon? Steammmy! Where can I get one of those? *winks at hubby*

After reading this and Shiver last month, I've decided I'm definitely a werewolf girl. Sorry Edward. Oh, and by werewolf, I don't mean those pups in Twilight. I'm a Lord Maccon kind of girl.

And my final bit of Randomness for today...

My world building is going pretty well for next month's Nano project. I'm really tired though so things are coming in 10 minute increments between catnaps. :D

What are you working on right now?

  1. I loved Shiver, too. And I have a thing for wolves. But I prefer human men. No risk of them accidentally eating me!

  2. The werewolves in Twilight aren't real lycans.

  3. LOL...Can't agree with you on the 'pup' comment but Souless was okey-dokey.

Right now, I am into Richelle Mead's Succubus series. Ms Mead, Patricia Briggs, and Jim Butcher are my absolute faves. I snatch up every word they write.
