This week I will not be posting regularly, but starting my research for the post Nano email topics I mentioned the first week in December:
The short story as a way to earn publishing credits
Editing/revising (grammar rules, story structure, dialogue, show vs. tell, passive voice/weak verbs, point of view, etc)
Excellent online resources
How to give and receive critique like a professional
Building a Platform (How to make websites, blogging, twitter, facebook and other social media work for you.)
Loglines or the Hook
Writing a synopsis
Writing the Query Letter
Creating a Marketing Plan
Agent vs. Small Publisher vs. Self Publishing
Here is a quick list of blogfest links that will take place over the next few weeks.
Eye Candy Blogfest hosted by Vicki Rocho. Post any picture (PG-13 please) that makes you smile on January 1st. I signed up for it.
Annual No Kiss Blogfest hosted by Frankie. Post on January 2nd. Post a scene where you build the tension, everyone is waiting for that kiss and then...it doesn't happen. I signed up.
100 Words for $100 blogfest hosted by Elena Solodow. Follow the link to learn all about it. Submit entries between Jan 1st--Jan 31st. Thinking about it.
Tessa's Birthday Bash on Jan 21, hosted of course by Tessa. Write a 500-1000 word story/scene that mentions birthday(s), candles, cakes or presents.
There is also a blogfest where you pick one of the photos posted and write two snips. One telling and one showing. I signed up, but didn't save the link anywhere.
Do you know which one I'm talking about?
