The New Plan

Short post today! First, I hit 100 followers, whoo hoo! Thank you all very much for choosing to listen to my ramblings. I'll do my best to keep it interesting. The dance video will be coming soon. ;)

Second, sign up for the Baking Blogfest, to be posted on May 1st. Sign up on the right, and click the link for information on the rules. Pass the word along.

BALANCE, that illusive quality of life that allows us to keep plugging along. Here is my new plan for achieving, or at least visiting this wonderful state of being on occasion.

1. I will only post on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I'm not going to give the days themes or cute names because I don't want to feel tied down to that topic. Whenever possible, I'm going to write and schedule my posts. This will allow me to spend more time focused on my family and actual writing.

2. The exception will be Blogfests. :) You know I love them.

3. And my goals and report on the weekend.

4. Daily writing time will still be 12:30pm - 2 pm

Why?
Look at this guy. He's not going to stay this precious much longer, so I want to enjoy it while I can.

Do you have a plan in place? How is it working for you?

  1. congratulations on hitting 100! It's such a milestone, and the perfect time to reevaluate and make sure there's balance. So on that line-- congratulations as well on having your priorities in order!

  2. Congrats! Hitting milestones is always exciting and inspiring. As for your plans, I have to say scheduling blog posts ahead has really freed up writing time for me. I have my Tuesday and Friday posts scheduled for at least a month in advance. I take 1 or 2 days a month to write and schedule them and then I have the rest of the month to work on other projects. Good luck!

  3. My plan was to blog once or twice a week. Now I'm doing it almost daily (minus the weekends). I try to write them on the weekends, when my husband is making dinner and my kids are watching tv. My youngest is in kindegarten in the afternoons, so I work on my novel then (if I'm not volunteering). Mornings (5-7 am) are for following blogs and evenings are for writer's workshop assignments (thank goodness that's almost over). Don't even ask me when I clean the house. ;)

  4. That's great you hit 100!
Blogging plan? I was blogging four times a week until I signed up for the A-Z Challenge. I did have a theme, but it's meandered since that time.

  5. 100 hi-gh!
What a lovely reason for Blogging less - enjoy those days while they last.

  6. That little guy is precious. I'm glad you've got your priorities straight.

Pretty much from the beginning I made the decision to only post three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesday's and Fridays. I've had to vary a few times because of my travels but I find that having schedule keeps me disciplined and able to focus on other things.

  10. Congrats on your 100 followers!!! Woo-hooooo! And you have one cute kiddo, definitely enjoy him while you can! My mom's last baby, my brother, just got his driver's license last week, and she was sighing over it to me this weekend :) It comes very quickly!

  11. Yay! I hope you were doing your 100 followers celebratory dance as you wrote this! ;~)

Awww, I think that little guy could stay precious forever but definitely enjoy days with him anyway! My studies mean I spend a lot of time on the computer anyway so switching tasks is easy. If I had one of them I think I'd find it hard to ever visit the internet so it's a great that you've created a blogging plan! :~D

  12. I so need a plan, but the ADD would make me change it like ten minutes later. Ugh.

  13. Congratulations!!!

Good luck with all of the blogfests I can't wait to check them out!

I'm a terrible planner though I know if I took the time, lol!

  14. I used to post about 6 days a week - sometimes more. Now I'm about 5 days. But reading other blogs and commenting is what takes my time, more than writing the post.

  15. My plan is simple: Go to work (I have 2 jobs), get the minimum household tasks done, write the whole rest of the time. Usually, however, I run out of energy. Luckily, the 2nd job will end in July, and I can surely cut back on the household. (^v^)

  16. Great goals - I need to focus and organize my time better too. I spend way too much time on-line. Your so right - family needs to come first. Thank you for the reminder. Oh and congrats on reaching 100 followers.

  17. Thanks everyone. I think my plan still needs some fine tuning and details. For instance, if I don't pin down times for doing things, I don't do it. ;)

The good news is that I spent yesterday writing/scheduling blog posts while doing laundry. When I was finished I felt like revising. Yay! And now I'm preparing to go to the park with my son again, so I feel like I'm doing ALL the things I should and want to do. That is a good feeling.

And Mia, I did do a little dance. ;)
