When I started browsing through my follower list in the hope of finding a way to send you a message I realized something. I don't really know much about many of you wonderful people. There are many I recognize because I follow you back, but somewhere along the way my numbers jumped up and I wasn't able to meet all of you.
I've been quite selfish. Well, at the very least I have neglected YOU, my followers. My posts have been more personal than writing related, but now that the kids are back in school I have a little more time to devote to you.
Who are you?

Please introduce yourself in the comments so I can come to your blog and meet you.
In fact why don't we do something fun. In the comments, post your:
- Name
- Blog
- The color of your toothbrush
- Big goal for the rest of this year
- Post your questions about the craft of writing, mechanics, grammar, publishing world, seeking agents, queries, synopsis, Nanowrimo, whatever and I'll start researching and posting the answers to your questions.
It's time to make this blog more about you and less about me...for a while at least.
I'll actually be gone all next week doing this...
...for my 15th anniversary. So you have an entire week to think of some questions. When I come back I hope to see lots of comments to help me get to know you and your questions/suggestions on what you want me to post about.
Please? and Thank You!
Congratulations on your anniversary and enjoy the cruise! And we've been blogger buddies a while, so I think you know me.
ReplyDeleteNice.

Color of toothbrush: White
Big goal for this year: To publish and promote my first book.
Question: what inspires your writing?
OMG you're going on a cruise! You are so spoiled. Try not to put on fifteen pounds because they stuff food down your throat on those cruises. But even if you do gain fifteen pounds I'll still come visit your site even if I do call you fatty.

Color of ToothBrush: White/Blueish (an ELECTRIC one..oohh!) :)
Big goal for the rest of this year: Have my book outlined and my first five chapters written
Questions -- Not sure!! Except for one...do you outline? If you do in anyway, how detailed do you go?
Toothbrush color is a big deal in my family. Somehow my mother always buys a two-pack with a pink one in it. -disgusted face- And neither my sister or I like pink. You can see the dilemma.
ReplyDeleteLuckily, we went to the dentist a few days ago. Now my toothbrush is green and hers is blue. :)
*waves* I see some of you that I talk to a lot, and some new faces. Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the post ideas. Keep them coming and spread the word. I'll get to work as soon as I get back on the 10th.
Everybody's talking about REAL vacations! How does my fantasy measure up? LOL Enjoy your cruise.

Color: Blue
Goal: Finish revisions of contemp YA Mystery and query some more.
Question: How do I stay motivated to query after so.many.rejetions??
Maybe I was your mystery critique (cebridges)? I did get it as an assignment and review it, mentioning your blog. I'm nervous now. Hope I didn't say anything stupid! I'm a newbie at offering critiques.
ReplyDeleteI'm also way behind on my blog reading, so I didn't see this until just now. I'll answer the questions.

Color of ToothBrush: clear with a blue stripe
Big goal for the rest of this year: Start a new novel while the other two rest.
Question: Does that insane rush of first love ever return in your writing career? When I first started writing fiction, I felt like I'd discovered superpowers, a link to a fantastic new world, the candy room in Willy Wonka's factory. I still enjoy it, but there isn't that all-consuming fire anymore.
Caroline, no it wasn't you. I thought your comments were nice and helpful. Thanks for asking a question. I'll add you to my queue.
