What did you get?

What do you get when you put 44 people in one house over the holidays?

Whatever anyone else has, that's what.

I call it the traveling gunk. Stuffy head, sore throat, runny or stopped up nose, and the headache. The headache could be from the 28 or so kids running around, but *shrugs* who knows. Luckily, no one was throwing up this year.

In spite of the traveling gunk, the last week has been wonderful. We spent time with my mom and my hubby's family. (His is the full house, btw.) It was great because we don't get to see everyone very often. Hubby even went to the shooting range with all the guys. I passed on the girl's shopping trip because my head was close to exploding, and cause I'm really not a shopper. I managed to survive an hour at J.C. Penny with my sister to spend a gift card I got and still wanted to shoot myself by the time we left.

Now we are all safely home. It's time to reclaim my house from underneath all the stuff we brought home with us, grocery shop, and then sleep all day on Saturday. At least that's my plan.

  1. My mom got me a T-Shirt that says "Writer's Block: When your imaginary friends aren't talking to you."

  3. I also got a kindle which I am very excited about. In addition to that my parents surprised my brother and I with new laptops (they were having a wicked good buy one get one free sale before you start thinking this is a normal thing :D ), plus I got the glider, stroller/car seat combo and baby swing I wanted.

It was an awesome Christmas indeed!

This is weird, but when I don't feel good I eat egg drop soup. It's just chicken broth and egg, right? It soothes my stomach more than chicken noodle, probably because it's lighter, but it's hearty than just plain broth.

  4. Yeah you got cool gifts. I work with Dragon Naturally Speaking every day at work because my co-worker is quadriplegic and uses it for his job and I help him out quite a bit. I think you'll enjoy it. The number one piece of advice I can give is to control your microphone. If you aren't using it, it needs to be off or in sleep mode.

Have a Happy New Year, Charity Bradford :)

  5. I got a badly needed awesome new computer, our family got (well, my husband got, but I'm claiming it whether he likes it or not) a Kindle Fire which I LOVE. I'm also going to get Scrivener on my new comp which I'm very excited about. It's been a good Christmas. :)

  6. That is a lot of family. Wow! Glad you had a great time and enjoyed the holiday. I enjoyed being with family and watching my children smile. It was fantastic. I didn't get what I wanted this year, although I know I was good all year long. Perhaps asking for that winning Powerball ticket was a bit much, but a girl has dreams.

  7. I got gift cards for Amazon products, the best ever kind of gift!
And looks like once again Alex AND Supra beat me to the comment section.

Claustrophobia kicks in if there are more than two people in the same room with me. Most be a leftover from my corrections officer days.

  9. I got a gift cert to Amazon which I traded for a vacuum. And while a vacuum may not seem like a gift to get too excited over if you had used our old one you'd be jumping up and down, too!
