High School Dances Blog Hop

Today is the day I get to embarrass myself with pictures from my high school dances. This blog hop is being hosted by Emily King. Here is the LINK to the list of participants.

For a little extra fun--can you guess the year?

My Jr. Prom--scary big hair and puffy sleeves!
My Sr. Prom--better hair and sleeves.
His Sr. Prom--we both wore tails.

I don't think I've changed much at all over the many years since these pictures were taken. Sure, I weigh 30lbs more, but my face looks just the same!

  1. I'll guess somewhere between 1983 and 1985!

  2. I'm gonna guess '89, '90 and '91.

  3. Yeah, given the transition I'm thinking later 80s. I'll guess the Jr. prom was '87?

Nice tails on your sweetie :D

    1. Yum, yes. He started renting tails when I said I liked them the best. I need an occasion for him to rent a tux. Any suggestions?

  4. Love these pics. Especially those teal sleeves! I think you look adorable though. Very classy couple :)

  5. Your significant other is very handsome. Go Charity! Of course you are stunning too. I bet your kids look like supermodels.

    1. LOL, I always thought he was IT. Still do. Tall and slim, well, neither of us are so slim now, but *shrugs*. I think our kids are pretty good looking too, but I'm probably biased. :)

  6. Same guy in all the pics. I'm guessing late 80's/early 90's too.

    1. We were one of those lucky couples I guess. Met at age 12, in love by 16/17, and married at 22. Considering I still like him the best after knowing him for 25 years I feel very blessed.

  7. You guys know your late 80's early 90's! This is 91, 92, and 93. I was one year ahead of my hubby in school even though there is only a four month difference in age. He likes to tease me by calling me his "old lady", but I say it means I'm in charge. :)

  8. I'd say late 80's, judging by the dresses. You look awesome!

  9. Oh . . the poofiness! The tails are cute!

  10. Poufy hair AND sleeves? Awesomesauce.

You look like a total sweetie. Thanks for participating!

  11. Look at all your pictures! I think we had the same hair.

  12. Quite cleaver with the tails! Oh the 90's!

  13. Okay...I have to ask. Was that a perm in the first pic. 'Cause I have hair like that with no perm and love the transition to a more straighter do. Please spill your secret. =)

    1. Yes, it was a perm teased to great heights and filled with baby's breath. Sadly my real hair is pretty lifeless.

    2. LOL. I guess we're never satisfied with what we got. =)

  14. I'd guess late 80s too. I like the background in the last picture, much nicer than all the cheesy fake ones. I always loved tails on tuxes.

    1. That was a professional studio that had an amazing lawn for photos.

  15. My high school self is so jealous of how big you could get your hair! I sure tried, but my perms were never as effective :)

    1. I slept on it and it was still quite wild the next day. It could have been the small town hair dresser that made it all possible.

  16. I love how the hair and the sleeves get smaller each year! AWESOME!

  17. Oh my gosh! LOVE the hair. So Fun! :)

  18. Is it just me or are you slowly getting smaller in each picture? 0-0 I don't just mean the hair/clothes. I mean you compared to him.

    1. LOL, yes! He started growing. He's a good foot taller than me now.

  19. 1989...then 1990?
    Did I get it right?

  20. I second 89/90. I love scary big hair and sleeves. Obviously :)

  21. Yes! Puffy sleeves! This is exactly what I wanted to see in this blog hop. :D Thanks for sharing, Charity!

    1. :) My pleasure. LOL. I can't help but think of Anne of Green Gables every time someone says "puffy sleeves". The puffiest!

  23. I love curly hair... you do it up so nice in these photos.

  24. I love how both your hair and sleeves get progressively smaller with each picture :). I do like your hair though....I always wanted natural curls!

    1. Me too, but I just have a limp wave. My girls got a bit more curl though.

    1. Amen to that! Now that flat is in I don't know what to do. Really flat doesn't look good on my plump face. LOL.
