New YouTube Videos for WOTF

There is now a YouTube page/channel for the Writers of the Future contest for new and unpublished science fiction and fantasy writers. Simply click HERE to check it out. I have to admit that I have been playing around with entering this contest for about a month now. The only problem? I need a good solid idea that I like enough to build a story out of, but not too much so I can keep it to 17,000 words or less. I tend to talk a lot, and that slips into my writing--thus my practice with flash fiction. :)

Anyway, I'll let you know if I decided to enter this. You can enter quarterly and the benefits of winning, or even making the semi-finals are amazing. If you make the semi-finals you receive a critique by one of the judges--such as Kevin J. Anderson, Doug Beason, Gregory Benford, Algis Budrys, Orson Scott Card, Sean Williams, Brian Herbert, Nina Kiriki Hoffman, Eric Kotani, Anne McCaffrey, Larry Niven, Frederik Pohl, Jerry Pournelle, Tim Powers, Robert Silverberg and K.D. Wentworth. That would mean more than the cash prize for winning!

  1. I don't think there's a minimum length on entries, why not submit your best anyway, just to get a feel for the process? Even if it gets rejected, should your next entry get an HM you can say you're improving ;)
