Technically, today is not a blogging day--and you are getting two updates! I'm very happy today and feel like the slump is falling away. Here is some more happy making news I read today.
In case you can't read it:
I asked: Do you think they actually reject some stuff? I'm just curious because although I want to be excited, that negative voice in my head thinks they publish everything that's sent to them. Manic depressive is another name for writer.
S.Smith (site administrator and author) replied: We typically accept a couple of stories for every twenty or thirty we read. There are stretches where we'll read more and accept less, but on average that's the acceptance rate.
Some of the stories we reject are turned back with specific requests for changes and resubmission, usually those are good stories in need of editing beyond the scope of what we're prepared to do.
Oh, happy making day!
I got one or two stories rejected by them before they actually accepted one.
