Bernard Pivot Blogfest

Today is the Bernard Pivot Blogfest hosted by Nicole Ducleroir over at One Significant Moment at a Time. It's super easy too! Just answer the questions, post them and then got browse the over 100 other entrants. They will be quick reads and we'll all get to know each other better.

  1. What is your favorite word? Plethora, it's just fun to say.
  2. What is your least favorite word? No
  3. What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally? 1st--Beauty. Seeing something beautiful makes me think how amazing God's creations are, and I want to do something to express my gratitude. 2nd--Seeing someone do something really stupid sparks my creativity.
  4. What turns you off? Negativity, people telling me to be realistic, doubt
  5. What is your favorite curse word? Bloody hell (but I never get to say it)
  6. What sound or noise do you love? There are so many! Children's laughter, rain/thunderstorms, the sound of autumn leaves when you walk through them...
  7. What sound or noise do you hate? All four kids talking at once or arguing. Makes me want to crawl into a hole and never come out.
  8. What profession other than your own would you like to attempt? I'd love to be a professional ball room dancer--standard and Latin styles. It just looks like so much fun. And no, I can not dance. :(
  9. What profession would you not like to do? Any job that requires me to listen to other people complain. I can be a good listener every once in a while, but constant complaining really depresses me and I just don't want to be around it.
  10. If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates? I believe it does exist, and I would love to hear "Welcome home."

  4. Oh, ballroom dancer! That would be great!!

  5. Ooh! Professional ballroom dancer! Now that would be fun. I've had a few ballroom dancing lessons and I'm rubbish at it, but it's such fun.

  6. Oh, yeah, 4 kids at once, that would stress me out, too.

I like how your answer to #2 goes with your answer for #4. Negativity is a huge drain on all of us.

And having 2 left feet myself, I took some Argentine Tango lessons a couple of years back. It wasn't too bad. It even made my hopelessly uncoordinated husband look good. And it's fun. Start hinting now, and maybe your hubby will get you guys some lessons for next year's V-day :)

  10. Thanks everyone for stopping by. I was trying to reply to comments via email, and after half of them I noticed they were all going to the "no-comment blogger" email addy. Sorry!

So, um highlights of what I tried to send...

    Social worker? NO WAY, lol.

Private dance lessons have been on my list for a long time. We're just waiting on the $$ to do it.

I think I picked up bloody hell from Red Dwarf, or some other British sitcom. I loved that Ron always says it too. Very endearing, isn't it?

  11. I don't know how people deal with complaining people all day long. Customer service, fast food restaurants, DMV -- kudos to those who do jobs in those places well!

Great answers! Thanks for playing along!!

  12. Hi, Charity,

We have several answers in common. Numbers 2,3,4, and 10.

I love "bloody hell." It reminds me of Ron Weasley from HP.

  28. Yeah complaining depresses me too. I'm also a crusader, so this is two stops in one.

  29. I'm sure you'll hear, "Welcome home."

I saw your comment on Liz's blog just now and came over to meet you. How lovely that I really did get to meet you through this wonderful list. I, too, like the sound of children's laughter and rain and leaves crunching underfoot. These are the sounds we need to hear, not negative ones from people.
