Birth of a Novel Week 7

Week 7

  • Every Friday post a quick update on how you're doing on your writing projects.
  • It can be combined with Camp Nano or whatever personal goals you've set.
  • All you need is a line or two added to the beginning or end of whatever post you already had planned for the day.
  • Then visit the others in the list to encourage them to keep moving forward.
Help spread the word so we have more folks to visit.

Is it really sad that I started this meme and am the first one to completely fall apart? I hope everyone else is getting more accomplished on their writing goals than I am.

In an attempt to find the positive, here's what I did writing related this week:
  • A lot of thinking about two of my story's plots and character motivations
  • Wrote about 1200 words on the romance novella
  • Did some marketing research
  • Interacted with other writers (hey, it counts!)
In other news, we close on our fixer upper today. I've already charged the camera so I can record our first moments of demo for you. :) Let me tell you, we are all excited to take a whack at some walls and a particularly ugly kitchen. Let's hope it goes better for us than this guy...

Join the fun and visit the others in the blog hop! Please link to your page, not the actual post. Thanks!

Feel free to post the list on your blog on post day. Simply add < to the beginning of the below code and > to the end.

  1. No, don't fall apart!
Wow, that dude barely made it out in time. That was really dumb.
You guys are going to have so much fun smashing walls.

    1. It was fun smashing walls! Probably my new favorite way to deal with stress. :)

  2. Moving and selling a house and buying a house is stressful. I know when I was moving I couldn't get my head in the writing game. It'll come back. And have fun with the demo.

    1. Well, the good news is I slept REALLY good last night. I think mentally I was able to accept the two mortgages because it was already done. No turning back. We will just keep working and make the best of it.

  3. I'll be interested to watch your progress with the fixer-upper. All I did this week was read and make notes on NO REST, the scifi I'm revising.

  4. You have a way better excuse for not getting writing done than I do. My excuse has been kitten problems and the need to actually clean my house for once. And I was visiting my 88-year-old mother on Thursday and Friday so I didn't even get around to commenting on people's blogs for this blog hop. Well, there is always next week.

  5. Sounds like you're doing great!! 1200 words on a romance project sounds fab! I bet they would make my heart melt. NO FALLING APART!

Also that poor poor guy. Lost a kitchen and a wall eh.

    1. :) Thanks Mia! We've managed to get rid of our kitchen without the house falling down around us, so that's good. I'm hoping I can get back into the writing mid August.

      Hope you're doing well!

  6. You achieved something and, no matter how small, that's better than nothing. =)
