Maybe even a whole new book!
Today my last child headed off to school. You know what that means? A quiet house all to myself for 7 hours! Well, hubby will be here too, but he works upstairs and I'm going to work downstairs.
The Plan:
- Get the kids to school (this will drag from 7am-9am)
- Exercise
- Clean something or other house project
- Shower
- Lunch
- Write, Revise, Edit, Blog, Marketing
- Kids come home, sanity time ends :)
So what are YOUR fall plans?
Enjoy your seven hours of freedom! No kids, so plans are the same.
ReplyDeleteWait until they're teens and won't get out of bed or retreat to their room. Even more time then.
ReplyDeleteI'm still trying to get my three month old on a schedule...
ReplyDeleteWhat a big day! Probably a touch sad for mom, but so much hope and potential, too! (For you and the kiddo. :) This time of year always gets me excited for things to come.
ReplyDeleteThere was a moment I realized my last baby was out in the world without me. I did get to keep him home until he was almost 6 so that helped a lot. They just look so young at 5!
DeleteCongratulations on having some time to yourself.
ReplyDeleteThanks Michael! I'm working on my Christmas present to myself during this time. I'm losing some weight!
DeleteGive yourself one day a week where you have an hour or so to just do nothing. You deserve some rest time, too.
ReplyDeleteI fell asleep on the couch for about an hour today. Does that count? It was wonderful.
DeleteWriting. More writing. Hopping around the blogosphere with Gwen Gardner as my Partner in ParanormYA and more writing.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that sounds about right :-)
Awesome Plan!
DeleteReply doesn't seem to work all of a sudden.
ReplyDeleteThanks Alex, I will!
Martin, the scary thing is I have teens too. Half of them prefer to hibernate, and the youngest is up at the crack of dawn. *sigh* Having kids 6-15 is an interesting challenge.
Beth, good luck with that. Getting them on a schedule can be hard, but so worth it.
Hi Charity! I have a 17mon old I just enrolled in pre-k (starts tomorrow) so I can have time to do revisions and get serious about a sequel. I struggle with feeling a little guilty: sacrificing a cleaner house and more time with my daughter in pursuit of this dream. but I think I'm a better mom when I'm looking out for me, too. It'll take time for both of us to adjust, but then I think we're both going to like a few hours a week for ourselves.
ReplyDeleteCharity, congrats on seven hours of quiet! I know how precious that is.
ReplyDeleteI'm still formulating my plans so I won't list them here except to say that writing is the number one priority.
Jai
Ooh that's awesome! I hope you put all that free time to good use! :-)
ReplyDeleteAs much as I adore and love my little ones... I ENVY YOU!!!! OMG - a whole 7 hours!! That said - my plans match yours only with a two year old tagging along : ) And like you the others come home in afternoon... insanity continues.
ReplyDeleteENJOY!!
Thanks Ainsley! I've done it with kids tagging along, and while possible, this is so much easier. I can actually immerse myself in my world completely without needing to leave the "mom" radar on. :) Hang in there and you'll get there eventually!
