Local Author Event

Saturday I attended the 2nd Annual Northwest Arkansas Author Book Fair. There were lots of authors to meet, and a few customers. Perhaps it was the rain that kept people away? I did manage to sell 3 books and one of Talia's necklaces, so I'll count it as a success.

The best part of the day was getting to meet and talk with these other authors who are writing and doing the best they can to market their books. Now that I understand how hard it is to get the word out about our novels and other projects I want to help as much as I can. I handed out lots of bookmarks to my fellow authors and invited them to contact me about guest posts, interviews, or just novel highlights here on my blog.

  1. You may have only sold three, but I bet some of the people who got a bookmark will buy your book later, probably in eBook form.

  3. I think Alex is right. So many people, myself included, are buying fewer paper books. I simply don't have the room to store them. If I want to read paper, I get it from the library. Otherwise, it's an e-book for me. So, here's to hoping you get some sales online soon!

    1. Me too. Although I still love my paper copies, I love that I can save my books in a cloud and reread them anytime I want without the threat of them disappearing from my paper bookshelf. That happens around my house. Books disappearing. It's got to be a crime.

  6. That sounds like great time. When I get my book actually finished, I'll be excited to try selling it at different venues :)
