Waiting on Good News!

Does it ever seem like you're always waiting?

I did get good news last week, but I'm going to make you wait for it until everything is official. For some of you that will be enough to know what it is. For the rest, be patient. :)

There is some good news I'd love to get very soon. I'd like to get a decent offer on my house. Especially since we are closing on a new one in two weeks. The thought of buying a fixer upper while still paying the mortgage on our current house is terrifying. So much so that I haven't had a good night's sleep in months.

Perhaps that's my real problem writing lately. My brain is just mush. I miss writing. The good news is I've stopped beating myself up about it. There just isn't time right now and that's okay. It's not something I have a lot of control over at the moment.

Instead, I'm concentrating on this...
This is the sunroom that will be my future writing spot. After a lot of cleaning and furniture shopping. It looks out onto the woods, much like the home I still miss in North Carolina. When I get all anxious and jittery from writing withdrawals, I close my eyes and envision this space when I've put my stamp on it.

Don't worry, when we start tearing down walls and ripping up floors, I'll document it all to share. It'll be my own version of Renovation Realities.

What are you waiting on right now? How are you dealing with that?

  1. Yes, now I am really curious about your good news!
You will have a great writing spot when it's complete.
You can't control whether someone buys your house or not. Just give it over to God and focus on what you can control.

    1. I keep trying to do just that. Buying this house feels like taking that step into the darkness and trusting God to turn on the light.

  2. Oh man, I have been in the middle of a remodel of the fixer upper that I bought for the last seven weeks. It's a bit of a marathon! Hope you have fun with yours!

  3. When I'm waiting on something I try to find something else to keep me busy, something that will take my mind off whatever it is I'm waiting for. Writing and reading help the most, but also cleaning (ugh).

That looks like a fabulous writing spot.

  4. That will be a beautiful writing room. I'm jealous.
Lately, I seem to be waiting on doctor appointments. I'd rather be waiting on writing.

    1. Ug, I hope everything turns out okay for you. Doctor's and waiting to find out what's up is the worst.

  5. That looks like it's going to be a great writing space! I'm not really waiting on anything. I'm just trying to get to the point where I will be waiting on acceptance/rejections.

    1. Good luck getting to that spot! At least that's something you can control.

  6. I'm not patient with waiting. The last few months have been a waiting game for me; job hunting, doctors appointments, life decisions that need made. I could sure use a beautiful sun room right now :)

  7. You need to focus on your house selling. See it sold. See it in new hands, happy hands. It's your worry that's sticking the old house to you, especially since you just about have the new one already.

I'm not waiting on anything right now. I'm plugging along on my novel, getting my chapter 11 all spruced up.
