New Cover Art!

Now that I've been home several days, I can report things are moving along for the re-release of my Magic Wakes series. We've got new cover art for the first three books! Take a look and tell me what you think. These were all designed by Tamara Hart Heiner who is also an amazing author.

I'll be re-releasing the first two in the series sometime the first week of November. Demon Rising is about halfway finished, but this amazing cover has inspired me to get writing again. My goal is to have it out by fall of 2018.

It feels so good to be excited about writing again!

Dawn of the Mages Cover Reveal!

I'm so excited to share my new cover with you! Everything is a go as of today. I didn't plan any big launch, but I had to share with you guys right away.

DAWN OF THE MAGES

...is now on Goodreads! Go add it to your TBR pile! I'll be giving away free copies of book 1 in the series the week of my release date.

Print copies will be available mid-July and ebooks the beginning of September! This is a huge jump in timeline for me. They were originally slated for late September and October, so I'm super happy!

Blurb:

The Dragumon have been defeated, but the planet Sendek will never be the same.

In order to save their world, Talia and Landry Sutton had to wake the forgotten magic on Sendek. But instead of restoring peace, it creates chaos on the city streets, with those unable to work magic turning against those who can.

When Talia and Landry travel to the planet Orek to discover how it combines magic and science, they find a new, anti-magical government. The Controllers have all the tech, weapons, and natural resources. On Orek, the magical outcasts beg Talia and Landry to help them rise up against their oppressors.

The two must decide whether to help save Orek or return home and save their own planet. Talia and Landry are torn apart by the conflicting missions. Talia knows what Landry wants, but if she gives in, she could lose what she loves the most.

Zak Whittington's Designs

This post is a shout out to my amazing cover artist for STELLAR CLOUD, Zak Whittington. Here's a reminder of what he did for me. I added the "A Short Story Collection", and that's why the font is different.

Here's what you need to know about Zak from his own words.

I am a freelance Graphic Designer from Nashville Tennessee. Most of my major influences are from Photography and Illustration. I am an avid film fanatic, and total comic and gaming nerd. Hobbies include sketching like crazy, taking photographs of anything and everything, and adding to my ever expanding comic and toy collections.

I am currently a freelance designer working locally at the moment, but willing to expand my client list to a nation wide basis. I graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with BFA in Graphic Design, and a Minor in Illustration. There I also studied Painting, Photography, and Book Arts and consider myself well versed in all. Illustration is where my heart truly lies, but I really enjoy Design and Photography as well.

And I know from personal experience that he's a Bears and Batman fan. How? Well, here's what he wanted for a Groom's cake at his wedding. (He married on Holloween, thus the orange, and the shapes are Chicago Bear's Blue even though they look black in the photo.)

Now, here's the info you want and need if you're self-publishing or just want to offer an artist suggestion for your publisher.

You can check out his portfolio HERE and on his Deviant Art page.
Really, go check out the variety of his skills. He can probably match almost any look you're going for between his photography, digital designs and illustrations.

His rates are $45/hour plus the cost of artwork if he has to buy stock photos.

Book Signing News

Saturday night I had another book signing in Murfreesboro, TN. I grew up in this area and it was a lot of fun to see some friends from my high school days. Unfortunately I forgot my camera! This pic is from my phone and not very good.

I also read aloud from my book for the first time in front of a group that night. It was for family and two of my best friends from high school, but it brought a new high to this published author bit. Even though I was nervous, all these months of reading aloud at writer's group really paid off. And the cool part was the thoughts running through my mind, "I'm sharing my book with new people that haven't read it!"

One is a professed non-reader even! I assured him he didn't have to like my book for my sake, but I'm honored he's going to give it a shot. Sometimes that's enough, you know?

What's going on with you these last weeks of summer?

Cover Reveal for The Magic Wakes

I have had one of the most exciting weekends of my life. It all started with an email from my editor with the cover for my debut novel. Now the book and blurb are up on Goodreads and suddenly this feels REAL.

People are going to read my book in just a few months! You can read my book in a few months! Holy Cow, I can't believe it's really happening.

I also found the perfect stones for Talia's necklace just last week. The jeweler is purchasing the rest of the supplies and very soon I'll have her necklace. One for me, and a couple to give away at the book release! Christmas came early for me this year!

And now, I get to share my official cover, blurb and release date with YOU! Thank you all for sticking with me all these years. You are the ones that kept me going when I wanted to quit. I'll never be able to show you how much you guys mean to me.

And now, I present to you...

Talia has a secret, one that will save her world and yet rip it apart. Only she can decide if the price is worth it.

Scientist Talia Zaryn has always had visions of an alien invasion and of her own death. She’s kept it a secret, hoping they are nothing more than childish nightmares. But when her face in the mirror matches that of her dreams, she fears the dreams are prophetic. Talia must prove that life exists beyond their planet, Sendek; perhaps then people will prepare to fight.

Talia's work at the Space Exploration Foundation leaves no time for personal relationships, but Major Landry Sutton isn’t looking for a friend. He is looking for a traitor. His ability to sense emotions convinces him Talia is that traitor until a touch sizzles between them. In an instant their minds are connected and they can communicate telepathically. Just as the two begin to trust each other, the invading force arrives.

Talia and Landry must uncover the secrets of Sendek’s past if they hope to defeat these terrifying creatures. And Talia is the key—if only she can learn to trust the magic coursing through her veins.
